Aspen is just a half-hour flight from Denver via United Express and Frontier Airlines. United Airlines also has daily non-stop flights to Aspen from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Houston. American Airlines has a daily non-stop flight to Aspen from Dallas/Ft. Worth and Los Angeles.

BY CAR

The Hotel Durant is a mere three miles to the Aspen airport. Local taxi cabs are there to greet visitors to take you to your hotel destination. From Denver, Aspen is 220 miles or 3-1/2 hours via I-70 West to Glenwood Springs Exit 116, connecting to Highway 82 East, direct to Aspen. Another scenic route from Denver is I-70 West to 91 South through Leadville, to 24 South, west onto Highway 82 over Independence Pass (open only during the summer months) into Aspen. From Grand Junction, Aspen is an easy 2-1/2 hour drive east on I-70 connecting with Highway 82 to Aspen. Highway 82 runs through Aspen and is also Main Street.

Scheduled and chartered services are available fro m Denver International Airport, Grand Junction's Walker Field and Eagle County Airport directly to The Durant. We recommend that ground transportation be arranged prior to arrival.

Amtrak: Service is provided to Glenwood Springs, 40 miles from Aspen, on the California Ze phyr. The train travels westbound from Chicago to Oakland, CA and back. For schedule information, call AMTRAK (800) USA-RAIL. High Mountain Taxi and Colorado Mountain Express can provide transportation to and from Glenwood Springs.
